ABOUT THE WOMEN'S SHELTER

The Women's Shelter was established in December of 2015 as a cold-weather shelter and has since become a safe haven and home for homeless women in Downtown Anchorage. The Women's Shelter safely houses fifty women each night, year-round. Dinner, prepared by Feed Me Hope Culinary Students, is served in the early evening while the women color, read or spend time with each other in our secure courtyard.
Showers, laundry, and basic toiletries are also available to the guests during shelter hours.

Volunteers help serve dinner, clean-up, and are welcome to play games and enjoy a meal with our shelter guests!
