 VOLUNTEERING

 At The Downtown Hope Center

A hand up and out of Homelessness is at the core of what we do in serving the homeless at the Downtown Hope Center in Anchorage, Alaska.  In order to fulfill this mission, we rely heavily on volunteers for our day to day operations.

We have volunteers that serve in the areas of:

Food Prep and Serving Lunch Meals

Food Prep and Serving Dinner Meals

Shower House and Laundry Service

Events

Events, both prep and clean-up, days/times are event-specific and as needed.

SERVING WITH CHILDREN EXPECTATIONS

We welcome children who obey basic kitchen safety rules to serve at the Downtown Hope Center in our kitchen with the parent/guardian serving alongside their child(ren).  Babes in packs, either on the front or back, are also welcome. 

 

The responsible adult is expected to manage their children and ensure the children obey the basic kitchen safety rules.

VOLUNTEER PROCESS

INDIVIDUAL / SMALL GROUP - Up to or equal to 4 people, including any children, 5 years of age or above.  

OR

LARGE GROUP - 5 or more people, including children, 5 years of age or above.
